AMCC ANNOUNCES MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM, BEHREND'S PATTERSON TAKES TOP HONORS

Penn State Behrend sophomore Mark Patterson is the AMCC Men's Swimmer of the Year. He was the team's top point scorer throughout the dual meet season with 17 first place finishes and three second place finishes, totaling 180 points. He also shared the AMCC Championship High Point winner with Behrend senior Nick Kost. Individually, Patterson set new personal records in every event he swam, as well as claiming the first place spots. In the 500 Free, his time of 4:40.49 set new meet, conference, pool and team records. Patterson also set new meet and pool records in the 200 Back with a 1:50.94 and second on the Penn St. Behrend top times list. His 1:42.28 in the 200 Free was just .07 off a new team record. Patterson was a member of four championship relays, adding five more records to his accomplishments. He led off the winning 800 Free relay that set meet, conference, pool and team records with a 6:58.04, breaking the previous record by four seconds. He was also part of the 400 Medley relay that broke a five-year old pool record of 3:32.46. Patterson was also part of the winning 200 Free Relay and 400 Free relay where he broke meet, conference, and team records leading off with a 46.57.

Alfred State University freshman Nick Beach is the AMCC Men's Diver of the Year. Beach was named the AMCC Championship Diver of the Meet after winning both the 1m and 3m competitions. He won the 3m with a finals score of 211.05 after posting a 366.5 in in the prelims. He won the 1m with a finals score of 265.15 after he scored 405.30 in the prelims. Beach was a three-time AMCC Diver of the Week honoree and was also named ECAC North Diver of the Week on February 14. He also holds the school diving record in the NCAA-era.

Pitt-Bradford freshman Nicholas Boyd has been selected as the AMCC Men's Swimming Newcomer of the Year. Boyd won the 50-yard Free at the AMCC championships, swam on the winning 200-yard Medley Relay time, and took second in the 100-yard Free. He was also a member of the 400-yard Free and 400-yard Medley Relays that finished second and was part of the 200-yard Free Relay that finished fourth. Boyd also finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly.

Penn State Behrend head coach Jen Wallace has been named the AMCC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year for the seventh time in her career. Wallace guided the Lions to an unprecendented 11th championship in 11 years, including coaching eight swimmers of the year, six divers of the year, and six newcomers of the year.
