Penn State Behrend junior Nick Kost has been named the AMCC Men's Swimmer of the Year. Kost capped off a stellar year with two AMCC and two James E. Longnecker Invitational titles in the 200 & 400 IM. His time of 4:06.73 is a NCAA B cut time and he is currently 51st in DIII with this time. AMCC Newcomer of the Year honors go to Penn St. Behrend freshman Mark Patterson, who had a standout freshman campaign. He won 11 individual events throughout the season and set one new team record in the 1000 freestyle, breaking a five-year old record. At the AMCC championships, he placed first in both the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke, placing fifth and third respectively in the overall meet. Patterson also was second in the 500 freestyle, and seventh overall. He was part of three of the five winning relays, 200 and 400 Medley, and 800 freestyle relay. After just one season of competition, Patterson's name can be found in six different events on the Behrend top 10 list.
Ed Bahan, the Pitt-Bradford coach who passed away suddenly in November, received posthumous recognition as Coach of the Year for both the men and women. Bahan led the Panthers for nine seasons, and was named AMCC Coach of the Year five times.
