PENN STATE ALTOONA'S WAREHAM NAMED TO CSCAA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICAN TEAM
Penn State Altoona senior men's swimmer Jay Wareham (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) has been named to the Honorable Mention category of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's Division III Scholar All-America team.

Wareham has been named to the Honorable Mention category
of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA)
Division III Scholar All-America team.
Wareham is the first Penn State Altoona men's swimmer in program
history to earn a spot on the CSCAA's Scholar All-America
squad.
At the conclusion of his junior year, Wareham held a 3.92
cumulative grade point average and has achieved no less than a 3.8
GPA in any of his semesters at Penn State Altoona. He was also
named the school's 2013-2014 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and
was selected to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's
All-Academic Team.
Wareham also posted a successful season in the pool during his
junior campaign. During February's AMCC Championships, he earned
First Team All-Conference status in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay,
in which he was a member of the title-winning squad for the Lions.
Wareham also qualified for the finals in two individual events --
the 200 Yard IM and 100 Yard Freestyle -- during the conference
championships.
Wareham helped Penn State Altoona men's swimming finish as the AMCC
Runners-Up with a team score of 207 in the three-day
championship.
The CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-America award is presented
to college and university swimmers and divers who have achieved a
grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester, or
cumulative average, and have achieved a "B" time standard but did
not qualify or compete in their respective national
championship.
