Penn St. Altoona sophomore Alex Fisher and Penn
St. Behrend junior Dan Simon have been named
Co-Swimmers of the Year in the AMCC. Both men led their teams
in a close battle for the conference title earlier this month, with
Behrend prevailing for the eighth straight time.
Fisher and Simon shared the high point scorer award at the AMCC
championship two weeks ago. Fisher was victorious in the 200
IM, 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Simon won the 50
freestyle and 100 backstroke events, qualifying for nationals in
the 100 back after being ranked all season in the Division III top
ten.
Behrend freshman Nick Kost was selected as
Newcomer of the Year. He won the 200 backstroke and 400 IM in
a season that saw him set several school and AMCC records.
Men's Coach of the Year honors went to Greg
Scallen of Penn St. Altoona, who guided the Lions a second
place finish at the conference championship.
