MEN'S GOLFERS SET FOR AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP
The AMCC Men's Golf Championship will take place on Sunday, April 18 and Monday, April 19 at Peek n' Peak Resort in Clymer, NY.
The 2020 AMCC Men's Golf Championship will take place on Sunday, April 18 and Monday, April 19 at Peek n' Peak Resort in Clymer, NY. The men's golf season was postponed from Fall 2020 to this spring.
Penn State Altoona enters the championship with an AMCC-best 324.0 team scoring average. The Lions have taken first place in each of the three tournaments they competed in, while sophomore Andrew Ferguson also claimed an individual title in each of those tournaments. Ferguson leads the AMCC with a 78.75 scoring average and is a two-time recipient of the AMCC Golfer of the Week award this spring. Freshman Trey Heffelfinger ranks second for the Lions and fourth in the conference with an 80.50 average.
Penn State Behrend ranks second in the conference with a 325.33 team scoring average. The Behrend Lions picked up two second place finishes and one third place finish in their three tournaments this spring. Sophomore Ryan Meyer ranks second in the AMCC and leads the team with a 80.00 scoring average. Junior Alex Pol also ranks in the conference's top five with a 80.67 average.
With a 333.0 team scoring average, Pitt-Bradford sits third in conference team rankings. The Panthers picked up a victory at the Medaille Invitational on Monday, while also finishing third in two other tournaments this season. Senior Johnny Fiore's 80.33 scoring average ranks him third in the AMCC.
Rounding out the top five scoring averages are Mount Aloysius College with a 358.33 and La Roche University with 395.00.
