BEHREND GOLFERS PLACE NINTH AT ALLEGHENY INVITATIONAL, ALTOONA TAKES 11TH
The Penn State Behrend men's golf team finished ninth out of 14 teams (629) at the Allegheny Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Invite held at the Country Club of Meadville on Monday. Penn State Altoona wasn't far behind, as they finished in 11th place with a score of 642 after the two-day event.

McDaniel College shot 295 on Monday to jump into first place, winning the invitational with a total score of 598. Mercyhurst University was the runner-up with 601, and the University of Rochester was third with 603.
Behrend freshman Alex Pol went from tied for 39th overall to finish tied for 15th with a team-low score of 73 on day one. He carded an 80 on the first round to get a two-day total of 153. Sophomore Jack Perfett added a 74 from today to his first score of 80 to total a 154 and tie for 19th overall.
Penn State Altoona was led by a strong effort from Carter Fischer in Monday's action. Fischer made par, shooting 72 for a 12-stroke improvement from his score in Saturday's round. His 72 represents his best score to date as a college golfer, and it was tied the for the second-lowest score of any golfer in Monday's round. Fischer compiled a two-day score of 156 to tie for 29th place individually out of 77 players in the invitational.
Payton Guelich had the Lions' second-best score on the day, showing a 10-stroke improvement from his score on Saturday to finish Monday's round with an 81. Guelich posted a combined score of 172.
