PENN ST. BEHREND, ALTOONA FINISH DAY ONE OF ALLEGHENY COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
After the first day of competition in the Allegheny College Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville, Penn State Behrend is sitting in 10th place while Penn State Altoona men's golf found itself in 15th place out of 18 teams.

Behrend sophomore Ryder Gringol finished in the Top 10, tying for eighth place with a team-low score of 75. Gringol was first on the team with +3 over par, while freshman JT Kuchnicki had a two-stroke difference from Gringol with a 77 to tie for 22nd overall. Tying for 51st overall, junior Ryan Matlock tallied an 80 for the par 72 course. Sophomore Noah Kunst held the fourth spot on the team and was tied for 70th with a score of 83, while senior Cody Stinson rounded out the team with an 84 (T80).
Penn St. Altoona senior Jared Wood shot a team-low 6-over par, tying for 32nd place out of 103 individual golfers with his score of 78. Freshman Pongthong Thongyai finished the day with an 82, tying for 65th place individually. Senior Matt Dillon scored an 83, freshman Chris Michelone carded an 84, and sophomore Adam Osborne shot an 85 to round out the Lions' five.
As a team Behrend shot 315, and Altoona 327, on the par 72 course. Wittenberg University held down first place with a team score of 301, Carnegie Mellon University was in second place at 304, and Saint Vincent College ended the day in third with a score of 306.
The second and final day of the Allegheny Invitational is tomorrow, Monday, September 12. Tee times for that round are scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
