PENN ST. BEHREND IS LOOKING FOR SEVENTH MEN'S GOLF TITLE
Penn St. Behrend is looking for their fifth straight team championship, and seventh overall, as the AMCC men's golf championship tees off at Avalon Lakes Golf and Country Club in Warren, OH on Sunday.

The Lions, winners of the D'Youville and Hilbert Invitationals, are led by 2014 Golfer of the Year senior Nick VanDamia who enters the tournament with an impressive 77.6 average. VanDamia will get help from sophomore Sean Sculley, who carries a 79.3 average, and sophomore Alex Shindledecker with an 81.5.
Penn St. Altoona, the runners-up in 2014 and holders of five conference golf titles, also look to contend at this year's championship. So far this year, the Lions have finished as the top AMCC school in four of their matches. They are led by two-time AMCC Golfer of the Week, junior Jared Wood, who boasts a 77.4 average and earned two individual first place finishes this fall.
Also in the hunt will be Pitt-Greensburg. The Bobcats, who have 4 AMCC trophies to their credit (1997-2000) are fresh off a team win at the Penn State Altoona Invitational. Freshman Javon Trout is the current AMCC Player of the Week and was the individual champion at the Altoona Invite.
The tournament is a two day, 36 hole, stroke play event. Sunday's first pairings will tee off at 11:00am. Day 1 pairings shall be based on the order of team finish at the previous year’s tournament, with teams La Roche/Hilbert/D'Youville teeing off first, followed by Mount Aloysius/Medaille/Pitt-Greensburg at 11:50am, and then Penn St. Behrend/Penn St. Altoona/Mount Aloysius at 12:40pm. An 18 hole women's invitational will also be held Sunday.
Monday's action will commence at 9:00am, with pairings determined by the Day One results. The tournament team champion will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which will be held May 10-13 in Rochester, NY.
