AMCC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP TEES OFF SUNDAY AT OAKTREE CC
Penn St. Behrend will be aiming for their sixth team championship when nine AMCC teams tee it up at Oak Tree Country Club this Sunday.
Penn St. Behrend will be aiming for their sixth team championship when nine AMCC teams tee it up at Oak Tree Country Club this Sunday.
The Lions are winners of the past three tournaments and four of
the past five. They are led by two-time AMCC Player of the
Year Dante Vetica, a junior who is currently
boasting a 77.6 scoring average. Vetica will get help from
senior Scott Klein, who leads the squad with
a 76.8 scoring average, and last season's Newcomer of the Year,
Nicholas VanDamia, who is averaging 77.4 strokes
per round. Behrend won three straight tournaments to start
the 2014 season.
Pitt-Bradford, the runner-up in the team
competition last season, will contend again with the help of junior
Zach Spicer. Mount Aloysius
College is also expected to challenge with the help of
senior Dylan Link, a first team all-conference
selection for the past two years.
The tournament team champion will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which will be held May 12-15 in Greensboro, NC.
