BOBCATS EARN TOP SEED IN ECAC TOURNAMENT
The Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats have earned the #1 seed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships after finishing as the runners-up in the AMCC championship tournament. They will travel to New Jersey City University to take on SUNY Maritime on March 7th at a time to be determined.
Pitt-Greensburg is led by senior forward Trent Rozich, who led the Bobcats in the regular season with 18.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, while also adding 76 assists and 23 steals. Senior guard Jackson Byer added 14.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game to go along with 31 steals on the season. Matthew Marinchak and Michael Bigley rounded out the double digit scorers for the Bobcats with 11.3 and 10.5 points per game, respectively.
The Bobcats finished the regular season with a 13-3 record and were the #2 seed in the conference tournament. They defeated #3 La Roche University 82-65 in the semifinals before falling to Penn State Behrend 66-61 in the title game.
SUNY Maritime carries a 13-13 overall record and was 9-7 in the Skyline Conference. The fourth-seeded Privateers lost to fifth-seeded SUNY Purchase 89-65 in the quarterfinals of the Skyline Conference tournament.
