The AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week features 8-4 Pitt-Greensburg at 7-6 La Roche University. The Bobcats are currently in third place in conference standings, while the Redhawks sit in fourth.
The Bobcats took down the Redhawks by four points in the team’s previous matchup earlier in the season. In that game, Trent Rozich and Joziah Wyatt-Taylor went off for a combined 30 points, ten rebounds, and four assists. Junior Mathew Marinchak will be another Bobcat to look out for as he is coming off becoming the 16th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone as he did that with his final bucket against Carlow on Feb. 5. The Bobcats have five players scoring averages in double-digits. The Pitt-Greensburg reserves have also come up big in recent games, as they are averaging over 20 points per game in the last six, with the Bobcats going 5-1 in those six games. Pitt-Greensburg comes into the contest with La Roche winners of 11 previous 12 games and five consecutive AMCC games.
La Roche continues its strong end of season run, having won six of its last seven games. Last time against Pitt-Greensburg, it was the Bobcats coming out on top. This past week, the Redhawks defeated both Penn State Behrend and Hilbert. Joe Starzynski became the 17th member of the 1,000-point club after a 24-point, 10 rebound performance against HIlbert. Bryce Epps is the leading scorer entering the contest, averaging 15 points per game.
