PENN ST. ALTOONA TOPS MEN'S BASKETBALL COACHES PRESEASON POLL

After falling in the AMCC championship game a season ago, league coaches expect Penn State Altoona to win the school’s first conference title this year. Defending champion La Roche University is expected to finish in second place, with Penn State Behrend rounding out the top three.

Hilbert College junior guard Quran Briggs has been named the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Briggs was an AMCC all-conference first team selection in 2022-23 and was named to the 2023 AMCC All-Tournament Team. He averaged a team-best 18.9 points per game (4th best in AMCC) while shooting 47.4% from the field. He also averaged 4.4 rebounds per game while recording 44 assists and 27 steals. He was named the AMCC Player of the Week on November 28.

The AMCC Championship will be held Saturday, February 24 at the site of the number one seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
