Penn State Altoona men’s basketball travels to face AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend this Saturday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. in a game with plenty of postseason implications. The Altoona Lions will be looking to make history, as they have never won in Erie.

Penn State Altoona has gotten solid scoring from guards Jack Kusters, Andruw Harman, and Robbie Hicks. Kusters ranks 13th in the AMCC with 14.9 points per game, Harman is 17th with 14.3 points per game, and Hicks is 24th with 12.7 points per game. Harman also pulls down 7.8 rebounds per game, the sixth-best mark in the conference. Meanwhile, center Cameron Gardner-Nicholson has recorded a team-high eight double-doubles this season and ranks third in the AMCC in rebounds per game (8.9) and 31st in points per game (11.3).

The Behrend Lions are looking to avenge a 74-63 loss to Altoona back on Jan. 18. They bounced back from a road loss on Saturday to defeat Medaille 81-74 on Wednesday. Senior forward Tyler Gates shot 80 percent from the floor for a career-high 21 points vs. the Mavericks. Derrick Clark helped the Lions break the 35-all halftime deadlock with 16 second-half points. Kenny Fukon had his third 20+ point game, scoring exactly 20 while adding a team-best seven rebounds. Behrend has clinched an AMCC playoff spot with three games remaining and have the best scoring defense in conference play, holding opponents to 64.8 ppg in 17 contests.

The Behrend Lions hold an impressive 46-6-1 overall record against Altoona. Behrend has won 19 of the last 21 contests, while Altoona took the first game of the series back in January (74-63).
