The AMCC baseball game of the week features two of the three remaining undefeated teams in conference play. Mount Aloysius College travels to Pittsburgh, PA to take on La Roche College, as both teams sit at 2-0 in the AMCC.
Mount Aloysius swept D'Youville College in their conference-opening double header to enter the La Roche series with a 2-0 record. The Mounties are tied for second in the league with nine home runs on the season and are led by 2017 AMCC Player of the Year, junior Matthew McCourt. McCourt is hitting at a .379 average with four home runs and 10 doubles on the season, both of which are second-most in the conference. He has also recorded a team-leading 15 RBI and sits second in the league with a .759 slugging percentage. On the mound, Andrew Shreiner leads the Mounties with a 4.74 ERA and 23 strikeouts.
La Roche owned their first series of the season, as well, as they swept Penn State Behrend this past weekend. The Redhawks have scored a conference-leading 119 runs on the season while hitting at a .327 average as a team. Dylan Urban leads La Roche with a .397 batting average while also scoring an AMCC-best 22 runs and adding 14 stolen bases, also tops in the conference. On the mound, Tre Thomas and Nick Tunstall lead the conference with a 0.87 and 1.95 ERA, respectively.
