Pitt-Bradford (8-14, 3-1 AMCC) travels to Erie, PA on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Lions of Penn State Behrend (13-10, 5-1 AMCC) in the AMCC Baseball Game of the Week. Pitt-Bradford currently sits in third place in the conference standings, while Behrend is in second.
The Panthers have won three of their last four games as they enter Wednesday's matchup with the Lions. Freshman infielder Tyler Hoops leads the Panthers at the plate with a .412 batting average, while junior outfielder Brock Blovsky leads the team on the base paths with six stolen bases on the year. Sophomore pitcher Ryan Boyer, with a 3-1 record, ranks fifth in the AMCC with a 3.18 ERA.
The Lions are entering the game of the week after splitting their last conference series with Medaille College. Sophomore infielder Scott Sada's .388 batting average is tops for the Lions, while he is also tied for first in the AMCC with 12 stolen bases and is fifth in the conference with 25 RBI. On the mound, Sada is tied for first in the conference with three saves. Senior pitcher Justin Rohrer, current AMCC Pitcher of the Week, is second in the league with a 2.19 ERA and is second with 44 strikeouts, while sophomore Phil Myers is right behind him with a 2.23 ERA. Senior Jack Herzing is tops in the conference with 49 strikeouts.
