La Roche College (16-6, 6-0) travels to Medaille College (7-12, 3-1) on Saturday afternoon to take on the Mavericks in the AMCC Baseball Game of the Week.
La Roche has won three straight, and three of the past four, conference titles and is off to another strong start. Offensively, the Redhawks are led by senior first baseman David Lemley, who is second in the AMCC with a .464 batting average and is tops in the conference with 30 RBI. Lemley is also tied with teammate, sophomore catcher Shane Roebuck, for second in the conference with five home runs. On the mound, junior Regis Sauer leads the conference with four wins, while sophomore Nick Tunstall leads the way with a 1.40 ERA.
The Mavericks' baseball bats came alive against Penn State Altoona, scoring 26 runs in Medaille's first sweep of the Lions in over nine years. Junior infielder Jared McStine leads all Mavs with a batting average of .313. He has a team-high seven seven extra base hits, including his first ever collegiate home run Sunday. Fellow junior Ryan Wojcinski has been the ace of the pitching staff. He has an ERA of just 1.47 (second-best in the AMCC) with a 3-1 record, and has one complete game shutout in 30.2 innings of work.
