AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR AUGUST 29-SEPTEMBER 2, 2025
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's soccer, cross country, women's volleyball, and women's tennis for the period running from August 29-September 2, 2025.

Men's Golf: Pitt-Greensburg JR Nick Thomas won the Pitt-Greensburg Leadoff Classic and led his team to a third place finish. Thomas shot a 73 on his way to placing first out of 72 individuals.
Women's Soccer (Defensive): PS-Altoona GK Mya Torres recorded 16 saves on the weekend to help her team go 1-0-1 to start the season. Trexler made 11 saves in the game against Wilson, finishing the game with a save percentage of 78.6%. In her second game, Torres made five saves and kept a shutout against Cedar Crest as Penn State Altoona would win 3-0.
Women's Soccer (Offensive): PS-Altoona M/F Kira Trexler scored one goal and provided three assists in her first two collegiate games. In her Penn State Altoona debut, Trexler would earn the penalty that Taylor Frederick would convert for the Lions to tie 3-3. In the game against Cedar Crest, Trexler would be involved in all three goals as the Lions went on to win 3-0.
Men's Soccer (Offensive): Mount Aloysius F Gonzalo Terricabris led the Mounties to a 2-0 record this past weekend. He scored two goals, one of them being a game-winner, in a 1-0 win over Penn State Harrisburg. Terricabris also registered a goal and assist in Mount's 4-1 win over Concordia-Wisconsin after only playing the second half.
Men's Soccer (Defensive): Mount Aloysius D Manuel Prats anchored the defense at the center back position all weekend. The team conceded just one goal and allowed five total shots on goal in two matches. The Mounties outscored opponents 5-1, as they went 2-0 on the weekend.
Women's Volleyball (Offensive): PS-Behrend OH Cadence Jones was named to the Saint Vincent All-Tournament Team for helping the Lions open the season with a 4-0 record. She averaged 4.57 kills and 2.36 digs per set. Jones had double-digit kills in three matches, including a double-double with 20 kills and 15 digs in the five-set win over St. Vincent. She also added eight blocks, five aces and five assists. Jones averaged 5.5 points per set on the week.
Women's Volleyball (Defensive): Pitt-Bradford DS Danielle Sasuga averaged 5.81 digs per set, leading the defensive effort in a 4-0 week for Pitt-Bradford. The Panthers were victorious in two five-set thrillers on Saturday, as they battled back to win both matches on the day. Sasuga tallied 93 digs over the four matches and added six service aces, two kills, and 15 assists. She also posted a .936 serve receive percentage.
Men's Cross Country: PS-Behrend SR Kody Klein was first on the team and 16th overall in the 6K race hosted by St. John Fisher on Friday night. The senior tallied a time of 20:02.3 to take 16th out of 131 runners.
Women's Cross Country: Carlow SR Ella Cloak's fourth-place finish helped lead Carlow to a second place team finish at the Wolfpack Invitational Friday, as she crossed the 5k finish line in 22:13.0.
Women's Tennis: PS-Altoona JR Lexi Colaianni had a dominant performance in both singles and doubles for the Lions on opening weekend, helping Penn State Altoona go 2-0 while ascending the singles lineup to the No. 3 spot after being No. 6 last season. In Saturday's victory at AMCC opponent Carlow, she blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles while posting a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. She continued her success Sunday in a non-conference road match at Waynesburg, winning 6-2, 6-4 in No. 3 singles and 6-0 in No. 3 doubles.
