Women's Basketball: Carlow G Sydney Carr hit her 1,000th career point in a decisive 74-55 win over Franciscan Saturday. In their first game of the week, a narrow one-point loss to Waynesburg, Carr recorded 19 points, six rebounds, four steals and a block. On Saturday, in the win over Franciscan, she scored 24 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out six assists while adding five steals and another block. The 5'4" guard averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds 4.5 steals, 3.5 assists and 1.0 block per game as the Celtics went 1-1 on the week.
Men's Basketball: PS-Altoona F Dwayne Jones had a big week for the Lions, posting back-to-back double-doubles to help his team go 2-0. In Tuesday night's home win over Juniata, he flirted with a quadruple-double, finishing with 17 points, 14 rebounds, eight blocks, and seven assists, with his total of blocks tying the Lions' single-game record. He followed that up with 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in Friday evening's home win over NCCAA opponent Regent. On the week, Dwayne averaged 17.5 points per game, 12.0 rebounds per game, 5.0 blocks per game, and 5.0 assists per game.
Women's Wrestling: Alfred State JR Dianna Pineda (124) went on to win two matches by major decisions after earning a bye in the first round. The first win came against Arianna Gonzalez (Cedar Crest), the second against Alessandra Rodriguez (Muhlenberg). This led her to the 1st place round, in which she lost by a fall against Liliana Zaku-ramos (Felician University) earning her a second place title in the 124-weight class.
Men's Wrestling: Pitt-Bradford JR Gavin Thompson (285) won all three of his matches as the Panthers went 2-3 at the Electric City Duals in Scranton. He picked up two wins by fall, pinning opponents from Rowan (1:04) and New Jersey City (1:37), and then had a tight 1-0 decision victory in the Panthers' loss to SUNY Oneonta.
