AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR NOVEMBER 4-10, 2024
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's basketball, swimming & diving, wrestling and women's volleyball for the period running from November 4-10, 2024.

Women's Volleyball (Offensive): Alfred State OH Alayna Tomlinson led the Pioneers last week with 28 kills while averaging 4.67 kills per set and a .211 hitting percentage. She opened the week with a nine kill game against Bradford. She followed with a 19 kill game against Mount Aloysius. In that match, she average 6.33 kills per set with a .261 hitting percentage.
Women's Volleyball (Defensive): La Roche MH Kylie Fehlman closed the regular season with a pair of great games for the Redhawks. Against Penn State Altoona, Fehlan picked up a pair of solo blocks and a pair of assisted to go alongside five kills. In the regular season finale, Fehlman picked up another six assisted blocks to go along with 12 kills, hitting a remarkable .579% for the match. In two matches, Fehlman recorded 10 total blocks, averaging 1.43 blocks per set on the week.
Men's Basketball: Hilbert F Larry Morse averaged a double-double for the week as the Hawks went 1-1 in the Hawks Against Hunger Tip Off Tournament. Morse delivered standout performances with a double-double in both starts, shooting 63.6% from the field and averaging 15.5 points per game. Morse dominated the boards with 22 total rebounds over two games and added four assists and a block on his way to earning All-Tournament Team honors.
Women's Basketball: PS-Behrend F Alaina Fabin averaged a double-double (14.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg) in her first two collegiate games, helping the Lions to a 1-1 record for the week. She recorded a team-best 16 points and 13 rebounds, while scoring the game-winning layup at the buzzer to lead the Lions past Case Western. Fabin then added 13 points and eight rebounds against Carnegie Mellon.
Men's Wrestling: PS-Behrend SO Nolan Fenton (197) was the individual champion at 197 at the W&J Invitational on Saturday. He went undefeated (4-0) and recorded three wins by pin to claim the title. In the first bout, Fenton posted a pin in 1:57 and followed that with another pin in 1:16. After getting a forfeit win, he defeated Phil Nave of Gettysburg in his fastest pin of the day (0:57) for first place.
Women's Wrestling: Alfred State FR Yaletsy Tamayo (207) took 1st place in the 207 bracket, after going 3-0 on the day. She opened the day with a 59 second fall over Fiona Kelly (Buffalo State). She followed with a 1:51 fall over Kai Douglas (Buffalo State). Her final fall came over Hannah Grawn in the first-place match in 2:14.
Men's Swimming: PS-Altoona SO EJ Heyman had two individual first places and was part of a relay first place in the Lions' sweep of AMCC opponents Alfred State and Pitt-Bradford on the road Saturday. He took first in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 57.59, and notched his second individual victory of the meet in the 200 Yard Backstroke, finishing in 2:08.50 to take first place. Additionally, EJ was part of the first place 400 Yard Medley Relay team that finished with a combined time of 3:49.42.
Men's Diving: Alfred State JR Bryan Reichart finished second on both boards with scores of 191.85 in the 1-meter and 214.70 in the 3-meter, but set new personal best on both boards.
Women's Swimming: Alfred State SR Madison Snayczuk picked up three wins in a tri-meet with Penn State Altoona and Pitt-Bradford, starting with a first-place finish in the 200 free, as she touched the wall in 2:05.13. She followed with a win in the 50 free with a time of 25.40. Then in the 100 free, she touched the wall in 55.55 for her third win of the day.
Women's Diving: Alfred State FR Shelby Nerber notched her first two wins of the season after winning the 1-meter board with a score of 141.95, and the 3-meter board with a score of 135.97.
