AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR OCTOBER 3-9, 2022
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's soccer, cross country, tennis, and women's volleyball for the period running from October 3-9, 2022.

Men's Golf: PS-Altoona FR Jack DiTrani compiled a two-day score of 162 (85/77) during the NCAA Division III Region V Preview last Monday and Tuesday at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio, tying for the lowest score on the Lions and tying for 21st place individually out of 95 total competitors.
Women's Tennis: Pitt-Greensburg JR Abby Rosman has not dropped a match since the first competition of the season, and went 3-0 in both singles and doubles action last week. She picked up wins at the No. 3 singles position against La Roche (6-0 6-0), Saint Vincent (6-0, 6-0), and Washington & Jefferson (6-2, 6-1). Rosman also collected W's at No. 2 doubles, going 8-0, 8-1, and 8-2 against the same opponents.
Men's Tennis: PS-Altoona SO Casey Hess posted wins in No. 1 singles and doubles in the Lions' first match of the fall last Monday at home against Westminster. In singles, he defeated his opponent 6-0, 7-6 (9-7), and in doubles, he posted an 8-3 victory.
Women's Cross Country: Hilbert JR Maddie Fusco came in second to help her team finish in second place to a Division II team. She broke the Hilbert 5K Meghan Memorial record by 8 seconds with a PR of 20:09.
Men's Cross Country: Alfred State SR Gavin Bathgate recorded his best place finish of the season - a third place finish at the Houghton Invitational, as he competed against 123 runners. Bathgate crossed the 8K finish line in 25:48.5.
Women's Soccer (Offensive): PS-Behrend F Trinity Prestash netted a pair of goals in a 3-0 win vs. La Roche on Saturday. She tallied the game winner in the 17th minute with a header goal off a corner kick.
Women's Soccer (Defensive): Pitt-Greensburg D Nylah Pannebaker started both games and was part of a back line that didn't give up a goal in either game. Overall, the Bobcats gave up just three shots on goal in those two games.
Men's Soccer (Offensive): PS-Behrend SO Blake Cooper scored three goals and dished out two assists for 10 points in a 2-0 week for the Lions. He tallied a pair of goals vs. Hiram and added one goal and two assists in the AMCC win over La Roche on Saturday.
Men's Soccer (Defensive): PS-Behrend D Justin LeDonne was instrumental in a pair of shutouts this week for the Behrend Lions. A combined four shots on goal were allowed in two games, including just one by La Roche on Saturday. LeDonne also tallied the eventual game winner vs. the Redhawks, nettting the first goal of the game off a header from a corner kick.
Women's Volleyball (Offensive): PS-Behrend MH Brooke Joncas tallied 48 kills and 48 digs in a 3-1 week for the Lions. She had a double-double in two of the four matches, including 15 kills and a career-high 24 digs in the conference win over La Roche. She also tallied 12 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 victory over Medaille. For the week, Joncas averaged 4.00 kills and 4.00 digs, while adding four blocks and two service aces.
Women's Volleyball (Defensive): Pitt-Bradford DS Kayla Maslowski had 45 digs in two matches for the Panthers this week. She picked up 12 in an easy sweep of Penn College and then collected 33 in a tough five-set loss to Mount Aloysius. She also added four service aces and nine assists on the week.
