AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR APRIL 24-30, 2023
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's baseball and women's softball for the period running from April 24-30, 2023.
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's baseball and women's softball for the period running from April 24-30, 2023.
Softball (Player): Alfred State OF Audrey Farrell hit an outstanding .682 in six games this past week. Farrell went 15-for-22, as she tallied seven extra base hits, with four doubles and three triples. On 15 hits, she recorded 14 RBI and crossed the plate herself 11 times. Farrell didn't strike out at all in the 22 at-bats and also swiped three bags. Farrell slugged an outrageous 1.136 last week. In addition to her production at the plate, Farrell also threw three complete games in the circle, striking out 14 and recording two wins for the Pioneers.
Softball (Pitcher): PS-Behrend JR Kayla Lindberg posted a 1.40 ERA in a 1-0 week, throwing 10 innings and allowing two earned runs. She also struck out eight, including five vs. Altoona. Lindberg earned a complete game victory over Penn State Altoona, a key win for Behrend, giving them sole posession of first place in conference standings.
Baseball (Player): PS-Behrend INF Silvio Ionadi hit .526 in a 4-1 week for the Lions, going 10-for-19 with 12 RBI, two doubles and two home runs. The freshman also stole two bases and scored nine runs of his own. Ionadi had a standout performance against first place Alfred State, as he recorded two home runs for seven RBI in the 10-3 win over the Pioneers. He had multiple hits in four of the five games.
Baseball (Pitcher): Alfred State SR Jon White helped the Pioneers clinch first place in AMCC standings as he pitched a complete game nine inning shutout against Penn State Behrend. White tallied nine strikeouts and allowed only eight hits on one walk.
