The Pitt-Bradford department of athletics and Alpha Phi Omega chapter will hosted third-annual "Teal There's a Cure" campaign on Saturday to raise awareness for ovarian cancer. Players will wore teal t-shirts during warmups and on the bench.
T-shirts, ribbons and cookies were sold, and a table for donations was set up in the lobby of the KOA Arena.
All money raised was donated to the Evans-Krivak Gynecological Cancer Research Foundation, founded by Bradford residents, Dr. George and Susan Evans, who is an ovarian cancer survivor and established the fund in honor of Dr. Thomas Krivak, the doctor who treated her. $1,074.95 was raised at the basketball game and Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity will add the amount to bring the total donation to $1,500.00
