D3 WEEK DAY FIVE: BEHREND MAINTAINS PRESIDENTS CUP LEAD AFTER WINTER SPORTS SEASON
The Penn State Behrend Lions captured two more championship titles this winter in men's and women's basketball, allowing the Lions to maintain their lead for the AMCC Presidents Cup title. In addition to the two basketball championships, the Lions also finished in second place in men's wrestling, while also advancing to the championship tournament in women's bowling. Behrend has collected 71 points out of a possible 78 total, for a league-high percentage ranking of 0.910.
In a tight race for second place, it's the Alfred State College Pioneers who edged out Penn State Altoona for the second spot. The Pioneers currently hold a slim 0.601 to 0.599 percentage ranking over the Altoona Lions. Alfred State had successful seasons in men's and women's wrestling, while also qualifying for the men's and women's basketball tournaments this winter. The Penn State Altoona women's basketball team advanced to the championship game after finishing in third place in the regular season.
