MEDAILLE COMPETES IN DANIEL WALKER INVITATIONAL
The Medaille College men's and women's cross country teams kicked off their 2017 fall seasons, as the two teams began competition with the Daniel Walker Invitational at Beaver Island State Park.
The Medaille College men's and women's cross country teams kicked off their 2017 fall seasons, as the two teams began competition with the Daniel Walker Invitational at Beaver Island State Park.
The teams competed hard, but both finished with tough-luck last place finishes. The men scored (102) team points and the women came away with (113) when the dust settled.
Top runners for the men included junior Meghale Ford, running the top time for Medaille at (24:18) to finish in 19th place overall, sophomore Brandon Roach, finishing milliseconds behind Ford with a mutual (24:18) time to take home 20th place, and junior Christopher Nelson wrapping up the top three for the Mavericks with a (25:36) finish.
Likewise, the women's top finishers were as follows: freshman Samantha Burlow, leading the charge at (22:38) for an 18th place finish; senior Leah VVan Son ran the course in (24:28) was good for 2nd on the team and 24thoverall, and senior Lindsey Ellis rounded out the women's top three with a (25:15), 28thplace finish.
