The AMCC women's basketball game of the week features a Wednesday evening showdown with Medaille College (4-3, 1-0 AMCC) traveling to Hilbert College (4-3, 2-0 AMCC). The Mavericks and the Hawks enter the contest as two of only three remaining undefeated teams in conference play.
The Mavs come into Wednesday’s game having won three straight games, including their AMCC opener against Pitt Greensburg 60-46. Medaille is averaging just under 68 points per game while holding opponents to under 64 per contest. Senior forward Dani Reinwald has led the Mavericks early on, averaging 20.9 points and 17.6 rebounds per contest. Reinwald ranks top 10 in the nation in eight different categories, ranking tops in the nation in free throws made (52) and total rebounds (109).
Hilbert is riding a four-game win streak after posting back-to-back AMCC victories at the start of the season. The Hawks have multiple scoring options averaging 65 points per game while leading the league in defense, limiting their opponents to just 60 ppg while posting 4.6 blocks per game. Sophomore guard Emily Gawlak is fourth in the league with 15 points per game and senior guard Kelsi Ebert chips in 14 points per game, leads the league with 6.0 apg. Junior forward Katelyn Proy is averaging 14 points and 13 rebounds over the last three games is has earned four double-doubles this year. Junior Morgan McNeill comes off the bench as a three-point threat ranks in the top five in league with a 41.2% shooting touch.
