Saturday, December 17 at 5:00 p.m.
The AMCC women's basketball Game of the Week features the Pitt-Bradford Panthers (3-5, 2-1 AMCC) against the Mount Aloysius Mounties (4-5, 2-1 AMCC), as the two teams battle at St. Francis University in Loretto, PA. The Panthers and Mounties share identical 2-1 conference records as they are currently in a battle for sole possession of second place. The two teams split the season series last year with the home team winning each time.
Pitt-Bradford will be seeking its second straight AMCC win when it squares off with Mount Aloysius on Saturday. The Panthers defeated Franciscan 76-51 their last time out, including matching a season-high with 11 made three-pointers. Through three league games, Pitt-Bradford is surrendering just 61 points a contest and limiting opponents to 43 percent shooting. Junior guard Ali Rinfrette leads the team in scoring with 17 points a game and ranks fourth overall in the AMCC, and senior forward Brittany Watts is averaging 12 points and a team-best seven rebounds a game.
The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team enters Saturday's game against Pitt-Bradford with a 2-1 record in conference play. The Mounties have averaged just over 71 points per game thus far this season, which leads all AMCC teams. Their high scoring output is due in large part to a conference-leading 85 three-point shots made. Freshmen, forward Jessa Wright and guard Lea Sammarco, have been the major reasons for this three-point barrage as Wright has drained 26 shots from behind the arc, which leads the entire conference, while Sammarco has made 20 treys. Wright leads the team with 14.3 points per game while Breana Kendrick (12.0) and Antwanye' Parks (9.7) round out the top three for the Mounties.
