ALFRED STATE'S BATHGATE LEADS AMCC RUNNERS AT NCAA REGIONAL
The Penn State Behrend and Alfred State College men's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Regional hosted at the Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, NY on Saturday.
The Penn State Behrend and Alfred State College men's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Regional hosted at the Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, NY on Saturday. The 8k race featured 172 total runners on 24 teams.
Alfred State's Gavin Bathgate led all AMCC runners with a 23rd place finish, as he crossed the finish line in 26:16.0.
Coming fresh off an AMCC Individual Championship, Kody Klein led Behrend in the 8K. Klein came in 36th overall with a time of 26:39.2 for first on the team, missing All-Region honors by one place finish. As a team, the Lions registered 374 points. Nick Temel placed 72nd overall with a time of 27:31.7, second on the team. Aidan Domencic, Bennett Kerr and Joey George were the middle of the pack for the Lions. All three were six total places apart with Domencic taking 85th overall in 28:00.1. Kerr clocked in with a time of 28:29.6 for 90th and George was two second behind Kerr for 91st (28:31.9). As a team, Behrend finished in 14th place.
Additional runners for Alfred State included Andrew Hvisdak, who finished 124th (29:26.9), Maxwell Chiarella who was 146th (30:44.7), Kyle Brown who finished 150th (31:02.3), and Carter Riley, finishing 152nd (31:24.0).
Geneseo won the race (41), followed by Brockport in second (77) and NYU in third (114).
