The La Roche College baseball team continues to climb in the national rankings. They broke into D3Baseball's Top 25 poll last week at 22nd and jumped to 20th in today's poll. ABCA's Top 30 poll lists the Redhawks at 25th while The Perfect Game's Top 25 Poll (comes out Thursday) ranks them 14th.
La Roche junior outfielder Luis Navedo makes D3Baseball's Team of the Week for the first time in his career and earns the Redhawks their third nominee in four weeks.
Navedo had one of the best weeks in school history hitting .538 (7 for 13) with eight runs, eight RBIs, four home runs, six walks, a double and a stolen base. In the Redhawks' two-game series at Pitt-Greensburg, Navedo hit four home runs and drove in seven batters. His three home runs in game one against Pitt-Greensburg is a school record. He is currently tied with teammate David Lemley for the league lead in home runs.
