Dozens of student-athletes from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford participated in Bowling with a Buddy Sunday afternoon at Bylle Lanes to benefit McKean County Special Olympics.
2017 marks the eighth consecutive year Pitt-Bradford Athletics has teamed up with the McKean County Special Olympics. For the event, the student-athletes cheered on the Olympians as they bowled.
“What a fun event for everyone,” Conference Services Manager and Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Kimberly Rublee said. “The Olympians and Pitt-Bradford student-athletes alike have such a great time interacting and cheering each other on. There were a lot of high-fives exchanged throughout the afternoon.”
Pitt-Bradford teams volunteering were men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, women’s bowling and baseball.
McKean County Special Olympics is a year-round program in which over 360 athletes with mental and physical disabilities compete in softball, bowling, running, basketball, golf, skiing and swimming. For more information on the organization,click here.
