Penn State Behrend has selected David Kacprowicz to become the first ever women’s bowling coach in program history.
Kacprowicz, owner and a coach at Erie’s Eastland Bowling, previously coached for eight years at Don Carter’s in Tamarac, Florida where he worked with the 175 average and above bowlers.
He holds St. Bowling Chairman positions for the Knights of Columbus in both Florida and Pennsylvania and is certified in Bowling and Scorekeep by the Amateur Bowling League. In 2013, he became a certified bowling coach by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and has been a licensed captain with the organization since 1971. Kacprowicz also holds a seat on the Board of Directors for the USBC Bowling Association - Erie District.
Kacprowicz is a graduate of Academy High School in Erie, Pa. and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in music from Edinboro University. He began bowling when he was eight years old at Greengarden Lanes and has continued to be an avid bowler for the past 56 years.
Kacprowicz recently completed a one week bowling clinic with Powerhouse, a leader in shop education, coaching, equipment and consumer supplies.
