  • PENN ST. ALTOONA'S CHRISTINE NAMED ECAC REGIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Penn State Altoona sophomore guard Finnley Christine picked up another award on Tuesday for her big performance last week, as the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced that she was chosen as its Division III South Region Player of the Week.

    As AMCC basketball teams prepare to play their final game of the first half of the conference schedule, the women's basketball game of the week features two teams looking to climb in the conference standings. La Roche College (7-8, 5-3 AMCC) will be hosting Penn State Behrend (6-9, 4-4 AMCC) Wednesday evening in the Kerr Fitness Center.

    Christine had a huge week for the Lady Lions in a pair of AMCC games. In Wednesday night's loss to nearby conference rival Mount Aloysius, Christine led her team with 26 points and 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the season, and she also added four assists and one steal. In Saturday's loss at AMCC foe Penn State Behrend, she put up a career-high 29 points (tying for the third-most points scored in a game by a player in team history) to go along with nine rebounds, a team-high six steals, and one assist. On the week, Christine averaged 27.5 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, 3.5 steals per game, and 2.5 assists per game.
  • AMCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: MOUNT ALOYSIUS @ HILBERT

    The AMCC women's basketball game of the week will be a showdown between the current top two teams in the league. Mount Aloysius College (9-3, 7-0 AMCC) enters the game as the only remaining undefeated team in conference play, while Hilbert College (8-5, 6-1 AMCC) is right behind them with just one loss.
  • Erika Woll, Penn State Behrend, Women's Basketball

    Woll averaged 26 points and shot 57.1 percent from the floor to help the Lions go 1-1 last week. Woll scored a career-high 32 points in the win over Pitt-Bradford, while also setting a career-high with 12 field-goals made and tied her best with seven steals. The senior guard also averaged 4.5 rebounds, assists, and steals on the week.

    Oddis averaged a double-double over both of the Bobcats' games over the past two weeks.  The senior totaled 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, on 47.1% field goals, and 5-of-10 from behind the three-point arc and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Oddis recorded 17 points and nine rebounds against Waynesburg and ended 2017 with her seventh double-double of the season with 20.5 points and 11 rebounds against Chatham. Her 24 points against Chatham was her fifth game this season where she has topped the 20-point plateau.

    Johnson scored 22 points, dished out five assists and brought down four rebounds in an 81-68 win at Medaille.

  • AMCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: MOUNT ALOYSIUS @ PITT-BRADFORD

    Mount Aloysius College (5-2, 3-0 AMCC) travels to Pitt-Bradford (4-3, 2-1 AMCC) this Saturday to take on the Panthers in the AMCC women's basketball game of the week. The Mounties are the lone undefeated team in conference play, while the Panthers are one of a handful of teams dealt just one loss in the young season. 
  • Ali Rinfrette, Pitt-Bradford, Women's Basketball

    Rinfrette played every minute of every game and led the Panthers in scoring in both games to help them to a perfect 2-0 week on the road. In Wednesday's win at Chatham, Rinfrette erupted for 38 points, tying her career-high and the Pitt-Bradford single-game record, which she set last season. She set season highs in three-pointers (four), field goals (10) and free throws (14) in the performance. With her solid play last week, the senior is now the top scorer in the conference. She also got it done on the defensive side of the ball, grabbing 10 total steals -- seven in the win at Franciscan.  Rinfrette also averaged six assists per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Pitt-Bradford has won three straight, the second-longest active win streak in the AMCC. 
  • AMCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAME OF THE WEEK: MEDAILLE @ HILBERT

    The AMCC women's basketball game of the week features a Wednesday evening showdown with Medaille College (4-3, 1-0 AMCC) traveling to Hilbert College (4-3, 2-0 AMCC). The Mavericks and the Hawks enter the contest as two of only three remaining undefeated teams in conference play.

    Reinwald had yet another standout week on the court averaging 26 points, 18 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 blocks. In the AMCC opener she poured in 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Mavericks went to 1-0 in conference play. As of November 30 she led the country in free throws made and rebounds and was second in the nation in double-doubles and free throws attempted. Reinwald currently leads the AMCC in rebounds (17.6 rpg) and is second in scoring (20.9).

    The first AMCC women's basketball game of the week features the La Roche College Redhawks traveling to Bradford, PA to take on the Pitt-Bradford Panthers. 
  • Dani Reinwald, Medaille College, Women's Basketball

    Reinwald had a huge week for the Mavericks. She posted 25 points, 20 rebounds, five steals, and four blocks in a 72-66 loss to St. John Fisher. She followed that up with a 20 point, 18 rebound effort in Medaille's 79-72 win over Fredonia. For the week, she averaged 22.5 points, 19.0 rebounds, 5.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game. Reinwald also eclipsed the 1,000 point and 1,000 rebound marks for her career in back-to-back games, respectively. Reinwald currently leads the AMCC with 17.4 rebounds per game and is fourth with 18.8 points per game.
  • Kelsey Oddis, Pitt-Greensburg, Women's Basketball

    Oddis started both games for Pitt-Greensburg this past week, as they opened the 2017-18 season in Buffalo, NY at the Buffalo State Tip-Off Tournament. Oddis played a team-high 84 minutes and averaged 24.5 points, 16 rebounds, shot 38.0% from the field, and knocked down 9-of-12 from the free-throw line. She recorded double-doubles in both contests, as she totaled 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the Bobcats' season opener against Brooklyn and poured in a game-high 32 points and 19 boards in the OT loss against Villa Maria. Pitt-Greensburg was down seven, 62-55 with 58 seconds left, but made a remarkable comeback to force OT. Oddis recorded a double-double in just the first half against Villa Maria, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. After the first week of play, Oddis leads the conference in scoring and is second in rebounding.
