PATTERSON, BEACH, SCHWAB TAKE MEN'S SWIMMING TOP HONORS

PS-Behrend junior Mark Patterson was named the AMCC Swimmer of the Year for the second year in a row as he was the only swimmer at the AMCC championships to hit an NCAA "B" cut time. He was the individual champion in three events, including the 500 free (4:38.6), 200 free (1:41.83) and 200 back (1:50.31). Patterson also swam on two winning relays, as he was part of the Lions' first place finishes in the 400 medley relay with a final time of 3:30.21 and the 800 free relay which finished in 7:02.19. Overall on the weekend, he set 10 individual records and helped set the pool record in the 400 medley relay. Patterson 

Taking home Diver of the Year honors is Alfred State College sophomore Nick Beach as he took home the titles in both the 1m and 3m competition this past weekend for the second straight year. He won the 3m with a score of 433.40 and the 1m with a score of 432. During the 2017-18 season, he set three new NCAA era records, 1m six-dive competition (277.30), 3m six-dive competition (249.60), and 3m 11-dive competition (433.40). 

Pitt-Bradford freshman Jared Schwab has been tabbed as the AMCC Newcomer of the Year. The Bradford native set a Pitt-Bradford school record as he captured the conference championship in the 50-freestyle with a time of 21.36. The next day, he won the AMCC Championship in the 100-backstroke with a school-record time of 52.48.On the final day of the championships, he finished second place in the 100-freestyle. Schwab raced as part of three school record-breaking relays (200-freestyle, 400-medley and 200-medley), and he also raced on the 400-freestyle relay team that beat Penn State-Behrend by .02 seconds in the final event of the championships to power the Panthers to a runner-up finish

Pitt-Bradford second-year head coach Doug Alban has been voted the AMCC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year. Alban led the Panthers to a second place finish at this year's AMCC championship meet, while also coaching the Newcomer of the Year each of his first two seasons at the helm.
