HILBERT SWEEPS MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

Hilbert College junior attack Tyler Nicoloff has been named the AMCC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year. Nicoloff was the leading scorer in the AMCC with 89 points. He was the offensive leader for the Hawks and was a factor in every game versus AMCC opponents, including 12 points against La Roche and 11 points against Medaille. Nicoloff led the league in assists (54 overall/23 AMCC), points (89 overall/39 AMCC) and points per game.

Hilbert freshman defender Tyler Balsavage has been tabbed as both the Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year. Balsavage was Hilbert's top defender, as he led the team with 40 caused turnovers, and also led the AMCC in caused turnovers in league play with 19. The 6 foot 7 inch defender anchored a defense that held league opponents to only 27 goals in six games (4.5 goals per game). The freshman defender also grabbed 54 ground balls, which is third-most of any player that did not take face-offs in the AMCC.

Hilbert head coach Rick Schunke and Alfred State College's Jonathan Hoover were selected as AMCC Co-Coaches of the Year. The Hawks and Pioneers faced off in the inaugural AMCC showcase tournament, with top-seeded Hilbert taking the title. Hilbert finished the regular season with a 4-0 record in AMCC play, while Alfred State wrapped up a 3-1 season.
