AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR MARCH 13-19, 2017

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's and women's lacrosse, men's baseball, volleyball, tennis, and women's softball for the period running from March 13-19, 2017.

Men's Volleyball: PS-Altoona OH Brad Colditz had another big week for the Lions to help his team go 3-0 in this weekend's NEAC Crossover matches. In a 3-2 win over Wells on Saturday, he tied his season-high kills total with 21 while adding nine digs and one block assist. In a 3-0 win over SUNY Polytechnic on Sunday, he put up 17 kills, four digs, and one solo block. Later in the day, during his team's 3-0 victory over Keuka, Colditz had 12 kills, eight digs, and one solo block. On the week, he had 50 kills (4.55 kills per set), 21 digs (1.91 digs per set), and 52.5 points (4.8 points per set). 

 

Women's Lacrosse: Medaille M Emma Campagna was unstoppable for the Mavericks against Saint Vincent, having a career game as Medaille stayed undefeated with a 21-6 victory over the Bearcats. Campagna found the back of the net a career high seven times on Sunday, missing on just two of her nine shots. She also added two assists to give her nine points in a single game, the highest point total for any Maverick in a single game this season. She was just as good on the defensive side of the field, snatching up a team best six ground balls, causing one turnover and scooping up four draw controls.

 

Men's Lacrosse: Hilbert A Tyler Nicoloff earned his first career double digit point game after scoring six goals and assisting on six other hits for Hilbert in their 26-6 victory over La Roche. Nicoloff also led the Hawks with four man-up goals behind 14 shots, nine on goal. He added four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

 

 

 

Softball (Player): D'Youville OF Ashley Carney has had a stellar start to her career as a D'Youville Spartan. In four games this season (all last week), Carney is currently batting .727 with a .750 on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. In her first career collegiate game against Lawrence on Saturday, Carney went 4-4, including scoring two runs. She has a hit in all four games this season, two games of which were multi-hit games. She also has one stolen base and recorded one RBI with three runs, a double and a triple.



Softball (Pitcher): Franciscan SR Jordan Cunningham finished the week with a 2.10 ERA and picked up a pair of wins. 

 

 

 

 

Baseball (Player): D'Youville INF Travis Macrides has been the offensive leader for the Spartans in the early parts of the season. Macrides leads the team with two RBI, is second with a .333 batting average and has scored one run. Against Lesley on Saturday, he went 2-3 including a double and a run scored. In all three games, Macrides was responsible for scoring or driving in a run. 

 

 


Baseball (Pitcher): Medaille JR Ryan Wojcinski threw yet another gem for the Mavericks last week in a 4-1 win over the Highlanders of Houghton College. Wojcinski went 6.1 innings surrendering just three hits and one unearned runs while striking out six batters. It was Wojcinski's second win of the season. 

 

 

 

Men's Tennis: PS-Behrend FR Brenden Dollard posted a 3-2 singles record in five matches for the Lions, including a win at No. 3 singles. He then picked up a pair of doubles wins in the No. 2 spot, as the Lions went 2-3 on their spring break trip to South Carolina.
